Why is Eco-Friendly Ganesh Celebration an Urgent Necessity?

eco friendly ganesha

A recent trend has been observed in the last few years in buying eco-friendly Ganesh idols in a large part of the country. It is a very positive sign that the attitude of the people is taking a good turn and they are becoming more and more sensitive towards nature. Now, some pieces of evidence should appear as the reason as to why we should recalibrate our ways of traditional celebration and move towards a new normal.

A recent survey has stated that at least 150 million people in India inhale air that is 10 times worse than the safe air quality standard as per WHO. Are the statistics not enough to raise our concern and bypass this overt callousness? The POP materials that are used to make Ganesh idols cause severe harm to the environment at the time immersing those idols in water. The synthetic colors that are used to paint those idols are polluting the water resources like anything and thus leading to various diseases, food poisoning, and damaging the ecosystem.

After all those facts and numbers, our wisdom should prevail in the form of our susceptibility to our nature. We should make a bold choice to shift our focus towards eco-friendly Ganesh idols as already shown by some sensible people. There are other reasons why we should plan an eco-friendly Ganesh Chaturthi.

The materials that are needed to make eco-friendly Ganesh idols are easily available and at the same time very cheap also. Take, for instance, betel leaves, cow dung, clay - getting hold of all these things are as easy as ABC. Moreover, when you make eco-friendly Ganesh at home, a collaborative effort of every family member creates a strong communication between them and creates a homely atmosphere.
